Description This geologic map was prepared as a part of a continuing study of digital methods and techniques as applied to complex geologic maps. The digital geologic map was created from the orginal linework used to prepare the published paper Geologic Map of Arkan
Originators Haley, B. R.; Queen, James E.; and Green, Gregory N.

Overview of attributes

The Digital Arkansas Geologic Map is made of five spatial datasets. The
map coverages are (1) contact, thrust, igneous, and fault, and (2) the
type coverage. The type coverage contains vectors that are in the shape of
words, graphics and symbols. Althought the scanned image was vectorized the
text is easly readable.
The correlation diagram was topologically structrured and attributed
as coverage LEGEND1. Consequently the boxes were color filled with the
coresponding color from the geologic map.
LEGEND2, CULTURE AND DRAINAGE coverages were not attributed. They are
supplied as registered graphical background images.
